What We Collect

Lexicon collects minimal data to make the game work. We do not collect your name or any personal contact information unless you choose to provide it.

A randomly generated Player ID (UUID) to identify your account
A device identifier to associate your device with your account
Your email address, only if you choose to provide it (optional)
Your Reddit username (if playing through Reddit, used as your leaderboard display name)
Game history (scores, words played, streaks)
Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
Technical data your browser or device sends automatically: IP address, device and operating system type, browser type and language, referring page, and the approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address
Cookies, local storage entries, and similar device identifiers set by us and by our advertising, analytics, and measurement partners — see Cookies and Similar Technologies and Advertising below

We do not collect precise (GPS-level) geographic location.

How We Use It

Game functionality: matchmaking, scoring, leaderboards, and streaks
Email (optional): saving your progress and recovering your account, since accounts are otherwise tied to a single device. A one-way hashed (irreversible) version of your email may also be shared with advertising measurement partners to measure ad performance — never your plaintext email address
Push notifications: daily challenge reminders (opt-in only)
Product improvement: understanding how features are used
Advertising: serving, capping, and measuring the ads that keep Lexicon free to play, and measuring the performance of our own ads on other platforms

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Lexicon and its partners use cookies, browser local storage, and similar device identifiers for the following purposes:

Essential — keeping you signed in on this device and remembering settings such as your theme choice
Analytics — understanding which features are used, so we can improve the game
Advertising and measurement — serving ads, limiting how often you see the same ad, and measuring whether an ad led to a visit or a game being played

You can clear or block cookies and site data at any time through your browser settings. Blocking essential storage will sign you out and may prevent the game from working.

Advertising

Lexicon is free to play and is supported in part by advertising. Ads may appear on the endless, practice, and daily challenge screens on the web version of the game.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Lexicon.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Lexicon and/or other sites on the Internet.
Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on Lexicon and may use cookies and device identifiers to do so.
These parties may receive your IP address, device and browser information, approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address, the pages of Lexicon you view, and your interactions with the ads shown to you.
We also use the Google Ads conversion tag across the site to measure the performance of advertising we run for Lexicon on other platforms.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising by many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). On the iOS app, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before we link your activity to advertising partners for measurement. If you decline, we do not send those partners any identifier that ties you to their ad platforms. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Analytics & Error Reporting

We use PostHog for anonymized product analytics and Sentry for crash and error reporting. These services collect usage patterns and diagnostic data that is not linked to your identity. Anonymized analytics data is retained even after account deletion.

Third-Party Services

Your data is never sold. The following third parties may collect, receive, or use data in connection with Lexicon, each under their own privacy policies:

Google — advertising (Google AdSense and H5 Games Ads) and ad measurement (Google Ads conversion tracking)
PostHog — product analytics
Sentry — error monitoring
Supabase — database and authentication
LiveKit — voice chat
Stripe — payment processing, if you make a purchase
Meta, TikTok, Snap — advertising measurement (these receive only hashed, irreversible identifiers, never your plaintext email or personal details)

Data Retention

Game data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed except for anonymized analytics, which are retained for product improvement.

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen within the app. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or opt out of personalized advertising using the controls described in Advertising above. Children

Lexicon is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not use interest-based advertising or remarketing to target children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@playlexicon.com and we will delete it.
